Why need data migration for your Intel SSD?

To begin, data migration refers to copy the exactly same data from a source disk to another destination disk. Usually, you may want to upgrade your old hard drive to an Intel SSD, because the old drive with low space leads to many problems as slow booting up speed and slow data accessing speed, while the Intel SSD is with better performance as faster booting up speed, less power usage, less noise and more durable property. Therefore, upgrading drive to the Intel SSD is the best idea. To do so, you should copy your entire old drive to the Intel SSD or just migrate OS to SSD, which is depended on your choice of keeping only operating system or all contents of old drive. No matter what, both should be achieved with an Intel SSD data migration software. Here, we recommend you AOMEI Partition Assistant.

How to migrate data to Intel SSD?

AOMEI Partition Assistant is a free and powerful software being good at Intel SSD data migration ( it can be used with all Windows editions of both 32bit and 64bit). Next, we’ll show you how to migrate data by copying whole drive to your Intel SSD, but before start, please make sure your Intel SSD is connected.

Step1: Download, install and launch AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard. Right Click the disk you want to clone (here is disk1, 465.76GB), or you can choose “Disk Copy Wizard” at the left pane.

Step2. Here is a pop-up window, and we recommend you use “Copy Disk Quickly”, which will copy only used space so as to save copy time and storage space. Then, click “Next”.

Copy Disk Quickly

Tip: the “Sector-by-Sector Copy” wizard will copy all sectors no matter it is used or not. It will take more time and occupy more space on the target disk, accordingly.

Step3. Select the Intel SSD (disk 2, 300GB) as destination disk. Here, since you copy the old disk to an Intel SSD, you should tick the box before “Optimize the performance of SSD”, which can improve the performance of your Intel SSD. Click Next.

Step4. You can edit your Intel SSD here. Resizing the partition as you want by click the options. (The Intel SSD can be larger or smaller than your old drive as long as it is equal or larger than the data size of your old drive.)

Edit Intel SSD

Step5. It will gives you a note for how to boot your computer from the destination disk. After reading, please click “Finish” to back to the main interface of AOMEI Partition Assistant, and then click “Apply” to implement the operation.

Within several steps, we finish copying all contents of your old drive to the Intel SSD. In addition, it’s also a data migration software for Crucial SSD.
