How to copy/clone dynamic volume?

Actually, as some advanced functions are not available for dynamic volumes such as expanding Striped Volume, Mirrored Volume and RAID-5 Volume in the Disk Management, you could implement these functions indirectly. But first you need to copy/clone dynamic volume to re-store data, and then add free space on new cloned volume to resize partition. One way is to convert dynamic disk to basic by copying dynamic volume to unallocated space on basic disk.

If your dynamic disk is setting with simple volume or mirrored volume, you can break the mirrored volume to become simple volume in Windows Disk Management.

Or use AOMEI Dynamic Disk Converter method 1 to convert dynamic to basic disk.

If your dynamic disk is setting with spanned volume, striped volume or RAID-5 volume, you could choose DDC method 2 to copy this volume sector by sector.

Then use Partition Assistant Server Edition to extend partition on Hard disk 2, and convert this disk to dynamic again under Window Disk Management based on your needs.

Resize partition

DDC can convert directly dynamic disk into basic within very short time, generally 3~10 seconds, while all the data and file on dynamic volume can be highly protected, eliminating your worries about data loss.

For Simple Volume Copied/cloned or converted to basic disk, you could use Disk Management to convert the basic partitions back to Simple Volume again without trouble. For Mirrored Volume, you can convert it to simple volume and add mirror on another dynamic disk. But for striped volume, spanned volume and RAID-5 volume, they can only be converted back to Simple Volume or Mirrored Volume after being copied and resized on the basic disk.
