There are 2 ways you can try to repartition hard drive, including Windows built-in tool and a market-leading Server partition manager.

▶ Repartition hard drive by using Disk Management

When encountering the above situations, many users choose Disk Management to solve the problems. When you install system and there is only one partition, you can use the tool to shrink this partition to get some unallocated space, and then you can create a new partition on the free space. However, Disk Management can at most shrink the volume to its half size, no matter how much the free space of the volume is.

Besides, if there are more than 2 partitions, but one is running out of space, you can use Disk Management to shrink a partition, and get unallocated space. Then extend a partition which is not enough. But you should note that Disk Management can only extend volume if the unallocated space is next to the partition you want to extend.
