Why clone SSD to HDD in Windows?

It is not uncommon that people clone hard drive to SSD like clone HDD to Samsung SSD currently due to the popularity of SSD and its affordable prices. You may wonder why people would clone from SSD to HDD conversely. On the whole, people want to do that out of the following two main reasons.

✔One is to clone SSD to HDD for backup. After upgrading HDD to SSD, a considerable part of them moved everything including OS, games, and favorite programs from hard drive to SSD. Automatically backup SSD keeps copies of the SSD but you need to restore them before you can use. As a result, if you want everything ready on HDD, to clone disk SSD to HDD in Windows 10 isn’t a bad idea in PC security building.

✔The other is to get larger disk space. Although SSDs have faster running speed, they still have shortcomings. Small capacity at equal price is the biggest one, i.e. SSDs are commonly created with smaller capacity than traditional HDD. Besides, SSDs have limited reading and writing times, for instance, about 100,000 writing times in SLC and 10,000 times in MLC. What’s more, it is harder to recover lost data on SSD. Therefore, it is still necessary to clone SSD to HDD in Windows 10/8/7.
