1. Disk Management
Disk Management is a useful tool for Windows PC users to manage their disk partitions, such as creating partition, delete partition, extend partition and shrink partition, change drive letter and path, set partition as active, etc. To format a hard drive, do as below:
Step 1. Press “Win+X” combination, and select “Disk Management” from the pop-out menu.
Step 2. Right-click on the Samsung SSD partition and choose “Format…” from the drop-down menu.
Step 3. In this pop-up window, you can select a file system as you need, and tick the checkbox for “Quick Format”, then click “OK” to start formatting the Samsung solid-state drive.
2. Windows File Explorer
This method is quite simple. Double click “My computer” or “This PC” to open “File Explorer”. Right-click on the target Samsung SSD drive and select “Format…”. And follow the prompts to complete the operation.
3. Diskpart command
Diskpart is a command-line disk partitioning utility, helping users to manage PC’s drives. Before you can use Diskpart commands, you must first list and then select the target object to give it focus. Once an object has focus, any Diskpart commands you type will act on it. See how to use this tool to format (Samsung) hard drive.
Step 1. On your keyboard, press the "Windows + R" at the same time to open "Run" Window, then type "Diskpart" and click "OK"(click Yes if prompted by the User Access Control).
Step 2. DISKPART will open in a command prompt window. Now execute the following commands in turn.
