This may not be a very accurate number, as this minimum disk space requirement is to better ensure Windows 11 runs.

Since Windows 11 was released on October 5, 2020, there are many Windows users who want to experience this latest Windows operating system. But many people may want to ask how much storage space does Windows 11 take up? Especially for SSD users, as SSD doesn't provide as much storage space as HDD.

If you're really attention to Windows 11 storage space, then you need to know how much space Windows 11 take on SSD. Unless you have a lot of free space in your SSD, you may face issues like storage or running slowly if you don't have enough space for work to run Windows 11. No matter how much space Windows 11 takes, you can choose one of these two methods to make your system drive have enough space to install Windows 11.

If you want to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11, you have two options. One is to do a fresh install of Windows 11, but that tends to make you lose your current data! The other is to upgrade to Windows 11 via Windows Update without losing data. You just need to go to “Settings”> “Update and Security”> “Windows Update”, and then click “Check for Updates”. If available, you will see Windows 11 feature updates. Click Download and Install to complete.
