Small knowledge of OCZ SSD

OCZ is a brand of Toshiba and provides the OCZ Storage Solutions for its SSD, born for game players and enthusiasts with high performance. Furthermore, SSD is much more reliable than the original HDD in capability. So take an OCZ SSD drive instead of HDD to speed up computer if you’re a game enthusiast or a 3D animation designer, or other users associated with computing.

Why migrate data to OCZ SSD drive?

As we all know, the SSD is more reliable than the original hard disk (HDD), which makes it more and more popular. However, SSD drive will be damaged anytime by improper operations just like the HDD. Thus, if your SSD disk is going to break, you can transfer data to OCZ SSD disk to solve this problem; or the current SSD drive cannot hold any other data, you have to clone SSD to larger OCZ SSD disk to achieve this goal. And you can also transfer data from HDD to OCZ SSD if you want to seed up your computer.

So, if you have encountered these issues, you may move data to the OCZ SSD drive. By the way, you can use the data directly after the data migration. So, how to clone data to OCZ SSD without reinstalling system and applications?

The Best OCZ SSD Clone Software

There are so many ways to clone data to OCZ SSD drive, such as Windows built-in program, the best free SSD clone software, etc. The Windows built-in program usually backup files into a mirror image, you need to restore data from the image file to use it again. So it’s not the best solution for OCZ SSD data migration.

The OCZ SSD cloning software is more flexible than the previous one; all you need to prepare is an OCZ SSD drive, your computer, and the best OCZ SSD data migration tool. Today, we highly recommend the best OCZ SSD clone software, AOMEI Partition Assistant Professional to clone hard drive to OCZ SSD of different sizes without OS reinstalling. During the cloning process, it allows you to align SSD partitions for better performance.

How to transfer data with OCZ SSD clone software?

The OCZ SSD clone tool allows you to backup files, folders, partitions, system, even clone your disk to SSD regularly. Let’s get started to clone system hard disk to smaller OCZ SSD drive:

Note:It's available to download the demo version of AOMEI Partition Assistant Professional to have a try at first!

Step1. Install and run AOMEI Partition Assistant Professional. In the main interface, click All Tools and Disk Clone Wizard.

Clone Disk

Step 2. Select a method to copy (here is Clone Disk Quickly) and then click Next.

Copy Method

▶ The differences between"Clone Disk Quickly" and "Sector-by-Sector Clone":
Clone Disk Quickly means copy the used sector only; Sector by Sector clone means copy all the sectors whether the sector is in use or not and the time it takes will much longer than the previous one. If you tick “Sector-by-Sector Clone”, make sure the size of OCZ SSD disk is larger than the one of the original hard disk.

Step 3. Select the system hard disk that you want to copy (here is Disk 1), then click Next.

Source Disk

Step 4. In the next Window, select the smaller OCZ SSD drive as destination location to save the data of system hard disk (Here is Disk 2), and ensure you have ticked the option "Optimize the performance of SSD", click Next. You will get a note that all data will be wiped on the destination disk, click Yes to continue.

Target Disk

Tips: If your OCZ SSD has important files, please backup them to another location with AOMEI Backupper in advance.

Step 5. At this step, you may edit the partition size on the smaller OCZ SSD drive (here is "Fit Partitions to entire disk"), or you can leave it alone by default. Click Next to get a note on how to boot OS from SSD drive, select Finish.

Edit Disk

Note: There are three options to choose in Step 5 "Clone without resizing partitions", "Fit Partitions to entire disk" and "Edit partitions on this disk". Choose one of them to clone. Since here clone large disk to a smaller one, the first option is greyed out.

Step 6. Preview the pending operations and the changes of the Disk 2, confirm these operations and press the Apply button to start cloning data from HDD to smaller OCZ SSD drive.

Note: The copy operation will be processed under the PreOS Mode when you copy system hard disk to your OCZ SSD disk.

The process will take about 20 minutes to finish, it depends on the data of the source disk. Here, the detailed operations of OCZ SSD disk clone are completed. You may use the data of OCZ SSD disk at once.

If you want to clone system to another SSD with the OCZ SSD clone software, use the "Migrate OS to SSD" function to finish. You can also use this software to recover deleted partition, convert dynamic disk into basic without data loss. If you have any questions about this article, please comment.
