Can I move OEM Windows to SSD?

I just bought a new computer with 1 TB hard drive that has Windows OEM pre-installed, along with some utility programs. And now I got a Samsung SSD and I would obviously like to move Windows 10 and all the installed programs from my HDD to SSD, make it the bootable drive and turn the 1TB drive into a data drive. How can I go about accomplishing this? Thanks!

Brief introduction of OEM

OEM is short for Original Equipment Manufacturer, usually OEM Windows has a license, OEM license refers to the installation of Windows on pre-built systems for sale to consumers online and in stores. Nowadays, it is shipped with almost every new computer unless you bought one without an operating system installed on.

Each OEM Windows has its own product key tied to the very first computer on which it was first installed and activated. Although the OEM Windows cannot be transferred to another device, it can be moved to another hard drive on the same device without a license or key problem.

Powerful tool: move OEM Windows from HDD to SSD

SSD offers faster running speed and a relatively noiseless work environment, it has become a trend among most computer users to transfer OEM Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8 or Windows 7 from HDD to SSD with the purpose of upgrading hard drive and getting better performance.

To accomplish this task, you can try AOMEI Partition Assistant Professional. This is a powerful software that is compatible with Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8, and Windows 7. It has “Migrate OS to SSD” features that allow transferring OS partition to another SSD or HDD easily and boot from it successfully.
