What is NTFS for Mac? NTFS for Mac is software that lets a Mac fully use drives formatted with NTFS, a file system mainly used by Windows. By default, macOS can only read NTFS drives. You can open and copy files, but you cannot save new files or delete existing files. When an NTFS drive shows as read-only on a Mac, an NTFS driver is needed to enable full disk access without reformatting the drive or losing data.

But if you download some NTFS for Mac software, you will be required to enter keys. Why do some NTFS for Mac tools need a serial number or product key? Many NTFS for Mac tools require a serial number because they are paid products. These developers charge for ongoing updates to keep their software working with new macOS versions and Apple Silicon chips. Paid tools often provide better speed, higher stability, and technical support. The product key is also used to activate the software after a free trial and to prevent unauthorized use.

If you prefer a free solution, PartitionAssistant NTFS for Mac is a strong option. It allows you to read and write NTFS drives on Mac without asking for any serial number or product key. The setup is simple, performance is stable for daily use, and no technical commands are required. For users who want a reliable and completely free NTFS for Mac tool, PartitionAssistant NTFS for Mac is one of the best choices available.
