Many users partition their hard disk when installing Windows 10, Windows 8 or Windows 7. However, they may meet the problem that the partitions are not showing up in My Computer or Windows Explore, and many of them do not know why.
There are many reasons for a hard drive partition not showing up:
● You didn’t assign a drive letter for the partition. A partition without drive letter will be hidden so that it does not show up in My Computer.
● Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 will keep a system reserved partition if you haven’t partitioned the disk before installing system. The system reserved partition will not show up in My computer.
● If you manually hide some partitions, the hidden partitions will not show up in My Computer, too.
● If you only create a blank disk, which can not be visible in My Computer.
● If the Windows cannot support the file system of the partition, it cannot show up in My Computer.

2.The system reserved partition is kept in default by Windows system, it won’t show up at My Computer. If you do not want to keep the system reserved partition, you need to partition the disk before installing operating system.
3.The hidden partitions cannot show up in My Computer too. But if you open the AOMEI Partition Assistant, you can see it. Thus, you just unhide it and the problem can be solved. To unhide the partition, you can do as following example, we can see that the third partition is a hidden partition, right click it, select Unhide Partition under the Advanced tab.
It will pop out a window to remind you that this partition will be unhidden, if there is no drive letter after unhiding, restart your computer. Don’t forget to click Apply.
4.The new blank disk cannot be visible, you have to format it so that it can be used and it can be visible in My Computer. To format it, the AOMEI Partition Assistant can be a good helper. Just right click the partition and select Format Partition. Or you can use Diskpart command line to format partition, too.
5.If the partition cannot be visible at My Computer because the Windows cannot support the file system, just convert it to NTFS, FAT32, or other Windows file systems. AOMEI Partition Assistant supports you to convert FAT32 to NTFS and vice versa.
