How to create a portable version of AOMEI Partition Assistant

Before you do

• Since the feature is for business and for unlimited use, you need to first install and upgrade to the Partition Assistant business version, Unlimited or Technician version.
• If you want to save the portable version on a USB device, please connect a USB flash drive to your computer in advance.
• If you create the portable version on a USB device, please first create a partition on the USB device.

How to create a portable version step by step

1. Install and launch AOMEI Partition Assistant Unlimited or Technician version, and then click "Tools" and "Create Portable Version".

2. Click "Next" to continue the operation.
 

3. Select a target location to save the AOMEI Partition Assistant. 
When you connect a USB device to the computer, it will select the "Use USB Device" option by default and your USB device will be listed here. Then, AOMEI Partition Assistant portable version will be created in the root directory of the selected USB drive. 
Or you could choose "Customize Target Path",  and then select a target folder manually.
 

4. Click "Create" to begin the creation of a portable version. And, you can check the process of creation. If you want to cancel the process, you can also click the "Cancel" button.
 

5. Once the creation is finished, please click the "Finish" button.

A: The main difference is that the bootable media is mainly used to boot a PC into WinPE to do operations in case of PC boot failure, while the portable version can only be used under Windows and it is mainly convenient for engineers or technicians to do IT maintenance or support on client computers without installation of the program on each computer.

Q: There is an error "You need to install AOMEI Partition Assistant on the computer to run..." when running the portable version on the USB drive.

A: Please first make sure the destination computer is not with AOMEI Partition Assistant installed. And, please make sure you directly create a portable version on a USB drive instead of creating one to a customized target path and then copying it to another computer to run.
